Run Wifey Run!

As of April 2012, I developed a love for running. I joined Black Girls Run! in Charlotte, NC and participated in my first group run April 15th. I was so enthusiastic, I ran my first 5k 5 days later. To date, I've participated in seven 5ks and one 1 miler. I keep track of my runs using Athlinks but here is a quick rundown of races I've run thus far:

Divas Half Marathon & 5k. I ran the 5k.

By the end of the year, I'd like to finish two 10ks and three half marathons. I'm already registered for the OrthoCarolina Classic & Black Girls Run! Drive to End Hunger 10k races. I'm hoping the September 29th Ramblin' Rose half will be my first followed by RR in Durham and Charlotte Thunder Road in November.

While I am on a weight loss journey, I consider myself in training; I'm not just trying to lose weight. I've found that running motivates me to do/be my best, and in order to do so, I have to lose weight, get stronger and perfect my running form. This new perspective has given me new motivation to eat right and hit the gym. I want to run a 5k in under 30 minutes. I'd like to participate in mud runs. I would LOVE to be a member of Half Fanatics and the Seven Continents Club.

So, yeah, this isn't only a workout blog; it's a running blog as well.
